Ukraine territory was center of East Slavic medieval civilization. State knows as Kievan Rus due to its most powerful and largest nation in Europe. From 14 th century, territory of Ukraine was also divided among number of regional powers, by he 19 th century, largest part of country was integrated into Russian Empire.

In 1922, Ukraine emerged as one of founding republics of Soviet Union. Soviet Socialist of Ukraine territory was enlarged and shortly westward before and after the 2 nd World War. Ukraine SSR became co-founding member of United Nations in year 1945. Country became independent again after dissolution of Soviet Unions in year 1991. Period of transition began to market economy; Ukraine was stricken with eight yea recession. Since then, economy of country has been experiencing stable increase with averaging growth GDP of 24% annually. Now, it is a unitary state that is composed of almost 24 provinces, and two cities with the special status.

Ukraine is republic under semi-presidential system with separate executive, legislative and judicial branches. Ukraine continues maintain second largest military in Europe after Russia, since collapse of USSR. Country is home to over 46 million people, with sizable minorities of Belarusians and Romanians. Official language of Ukraine is Ukrainians while Russian is also spoken widely in country. Dominant religion in country is Eastern Orthodox Christianity; it has influence heavily by music, literature and architecture. Legislative branch of Ukraine includes 450 seats in unicameral parliament; it is primarily responsible for formation of executive branch as well as Cabinet of Ministers.
