History of Ukraine
Republic of Ukraine was damaged heavily by war, it required a significant effort to recover, over 700 towns and cities and about 28,000 villages were destroyed. Situation was worsened by famine in year 1946 and 47, it was due to drought and infrastructure breakdown took away tens of the thousands of lives. Following death of Stalin in year 1953,
 

Nikita K became new leader of USSR, being first Secretary of communist party of SSR in 1938-49, Nikita was family with republic and taking power as union-wide in 1954, on 300teh anniversary of Pereyaslav Treaty it was widely celebrated, cinema was transferred then from SFSR to Ukrainian SSR.

 

By the year 1950, republic fully surpassed on levels of the industry and production, during years 1946-1950, a five year plan was nearly made with 20 percent of Soviet budget that was invested in the Soviet Ukraine With five percent increase from the prewar plans. Ukraine workforce rose with 33% from prewar plans. First launch of Ukraine's rocket at Sea Launch in 19990, new parliament adopted declaration of the stage sovereignty of country. Declaration established principles of self-determination of Ukrainian nation, politics of country, its democracy and the economic independence. A month earlier, similar declaration was made by parliament of Russian SFSR. Started period of the confrontation between central Soviet, new republican authorities.

 


Economy of Ukraine stabilized by end of 1990s, new currency was introduced in year 1996, country has enjoyed real economic growth sine 2000, averaging 7% annually. Ukraine Constitution was adopted in year 1996, and then it turned Ukraine into semi-presidential and stable political system. However, Kuchma was criticized by the opponents for concentrating much power in office. Viktor Yankovych in 2004, was declared winner of presidential elections, it had largely rigged, as Ukraine's Supreme Court later ruled. Result caused public outcry in the support of opposition candidate, Victor Challenged results and led peaceful Orange Revolution.
